Girasole Vineyards uses natural techniques in the process of growing their grapes. Part of the organic process includes eliminating the use of conventional pesticides, herbicides, synthetic fertilizers and sewage sludge. Another healthy aspect of getting nutrients to the grapes involves vegetables and plants which are grown between the rows of vines. When they start to seed or begin to bear fruit, the plants are turned back into the soil and act as nutrients for the vines. This produces healthier soils that allow the vines to take up the nutrients more efficiently.
